In the beautiful valley of Okains Bay near its safe and sandy beach and estuary is our homely 7-bed hostel on 20 acres of farmland. The walk to the beach along the estuary with its extensive bird life takes about twenty minutes. A lovely quiet place to unwind, to go for a swim or to walk the surrounding hills. At low tide you can pick your own mussels from the rocks by the beach.

We are keen to share our knowledge of the outdoor pleasures that Banks Peninsula offers: walking, kayaking, sailing, swimming with dolphins.

We are a 20 minutes scenic drive from the hustle and bustle of Akaroa with its café's and restaurants and one and a half hour from Christchurch airport. A good place to get over your jetlag, to prepare for your flight home or to just relax.

The Okains Bay Maori and Colonial Museum with its greenstone treasures and war canoes is around the corner.
